Gold Standard Metals buys gold — and now silver — from people who have outgrown it. Broken chains, a single earring, a grandmother's ring that will never be worn again, a shoebox of scrap. We treat all of it the same way: weighed, tested, and priced on what the metal actually is.
We are a mail-order operation based in Gig Harbor, Washington. There is no storefront to visit and no counter to stand at, which keeps our costs down and means the same offer applies whether you are across town or across the country.

Nothing is bought until you accept a written offer in person. Decline and your items come back.
Measured, not guessed
Your quote is built on weight and purity we verify here — not on your estimate and not on a photograph.
We say the hard thing early
Plated, filled and costume pieces are worth very little. You will hear that from us before you ship, not after.
Small lots are welcome
There is no minimum. If a lot is too modest to be worth your postage, we will tell you that too.
What we are not
We are not an appraisal service and we do not issue certificates of authenticity or value. We are not a dealer in collectible coins, and we do not advise on precious metals as a place to hold money. We buy metal, we pay for it, and we send it to the refiner.
